Deathspell Omega Chaining the Katechon Personal Illustration

One of my absolute favorite bands out today. This little piece was made after a daylong listening session to their discography. There is a really enigmatic intelligence and zeal with this band, which was something i wanted the design to capture. Also, they are an extremely progressive bands, especially within black I tried to call out aspects of the genre and contrast it with more refined forms and type.

The closing lyrics of "Chaining the Katechon" heavily inspired this one.

The temple stands,
Its walls a prison for the Katechon,
While the plowshare grates on the crystal hard and vivid tear
And blood pours from the furrows
While the star shines high/ No place to cover from/
Its rotten light
