Interpol-"Lights" Artwork

The new Interpol Artwork was a real shame to see, I dont even want to link it. That being said, an old aquiantence of mine is in the BRILLIANT new Charlie White Video for the song "Lights". Most importantly though is that the video is the best video.

The above are mainly just experimenting with logotype-esque design and random textures. Nothing special, just trying out some new things.

The Hundred in the Hands-This Desert Illustration

This band has been up there with Warpaint for most promising debut this summer. They released a six song ep (just like warpaint) that is great but no where near as awesome as the stuff that is coming out from their full length like this unstoppably good live performance of a new song, "Commotion". That is LIVE sound you guys....well done! More info/sounds for them at Warp's website.

Check them out you guys.

Deathspell Omega Chaining the Katechon Personal Illustration

One of my absolute favorite bands out today. This little piece was made after a daylong listening session to their discography. There is a really enigmatic intelligence and zeal with this band, which was something i wanted the design to capture. Also, they are an extremely progressive bands, especially within black metal...so I tried to call out aspects of the genre and contrast it with more refined forms and type.

COOL.

The closing lyrics of "Chaining the Katechon" heavily inspired this one.

The temple stands,
Its walls a prison for the Katechon,
While the plowshare grates on the crystal hard and vivid tear
And blood pours from the furrows
While the star shines high/ No place to cover from/
Its rotten light

Q.) What?

A.) What?

(I spent an entire day making these RIDICULOUS IMAGES from the image above. It's all photoshoptown from there guys... WOOPS.)

Fever Ray-Seven Personal Illustration

Everything about The Knife and specifically Karin's Fever Ray Project is in perfect artistic balance. The music, the mood, the attire, the design all fits into this lovely package. Part mystic, science fiction and all enigma. I recently listened to Fever Ray's Debut all evening and made this little design in honor of the fantastic record, calling out the song "Seven" as it is one of my favorites. See it as a single...a 7" sleeve, if you will.

Gospel just Reunited, Sooo...

I thought I would continue making things related to music, so this is a cover for the brilliant album "The Moon is a Dead World". I still remembering tearing through parking lots (specificially) jamming "Golden Dawn" which is one the best 9 minute songs ever. Hell, they even have fantasticly cool lyrics you guys!

In Honor of Warpaint's recent success...

This was made with Warpaints mini album "Exquisite Corpse" in mind. They are a fantastic all female band that is really a sight to behold. They should be releasing a full length later this year and my anticipation is building rapidly. The imagery pulls from an interpretation of the song "Krimson"...which is second only to the masterpiece that is "Stars".
